Fulham defender Aaron Hughes says Brede Hangeland is the best he's played with.

Hughes said the Norwegian - linked with Arsenal and Spurs in January - is better than the likes of Philippe Albert or Martin Laursen, who he partnered while at Newcastle and Aston Villa.

Hughes said: "Brede has everything you could want a central defender to have.

"He's 6ft 5in and his aerial capabilities are fantastic. But for such a big lad he's comfortable with the ball at his feet, he can see a pass and play it.

"We have formed a good partnership and you can see why he's getting interest from other clubs."
