Fulham coach McKinlay expecting big things from Watts

Fulham reserves boss Billy McKinlay is expecting big things from young defender Adam Watts next season.

He told fulhamfc.com: "Adam had progressed well, he was making good strides after his loan period the season before last with MK Dons. We had big plans for him across the season but unfortunately he got stopped in his tracks with the injury.

"Wattsy is a very mature player who, at times, is very harsh on himself. He's got a really good chance, his attitude is first class and he's a very motivated player. He doesn't rely on anyone but himself, which is the message we all try to get across to the players. First and foremost, they are the driving forces behind their careers.

"You never know what level players are going to get to but we feel that he's got an opportunity to make an impact on our squad.

"Adam just needs a bit of experience and he was certainly one we would have been looking to get out on loan for the second part of last season. I'm sure he'll come back firing on all cylinders pre-season."
