Fulham captain Danny Murphy is heading for showdown talks with imminent new manager Martin Jol.
The Daily Star says Jol is on the brink of quitting Ajax to take over from Roy Hodgson at Craven Cottage and his first job on the club's Swedish pre-season tour will be a meeting with Murphy.
Jol was Tottenham boss when he paid Charlton Athletic £2m for Murphy in January 2006.
But the move never worked out and 19 months later Murphy was allowed to join Fulham for a pittance.
Midfielder Murphy, 33, revived his career under Hodgson and will demand assurances that he is part of Jol's long-term plans.
