Fulham boss Jol delighted Rodallega already on scoresheet

Fulham boss Martin Jol was delighted with Hugo Rodallega's goal scoring performance in their draw with Brighton.

The Dutchman admits that it's still early days in Rodallega's progress but he explained the Team will benefit even more from their new signing's predatory instincts when he gets up to speed.

"It was good to see Rodallega score his first goal," Jol told Fulhamfc.com.

"He did well at the start but I wanted to sub him off because he played 45 minutes with the youngsters recently, but he said I'm fine so I left him on.

"When you have a quite bad ankle injury like he did, he was out for three or four weeks and that is quite a long term lay-off.

"He's been working hard to get his fitness and he may need two or three more games before we start to see the best of him.

"But it was important to see him looking sharp in front of goal, and he's a useful player. He played on the left today but we know he can play up front with Petric, he can play as a second striker.

"We had him in to give us options and hopefully he can do something next season."
