Fulham boss Martin Jol hopes to sign Aston Villa striker Darren Bent this week.

The Cottagers are expected to meet Villa's £6 million asking price.

"I don't speculate on things that are not 100 per cent," said Jole. "With Darren Bent, hopefully we can tell you something by the end of the week.

"We've got several doors open, so for us it is only us to make a decision and get the player."
