Fulham boss Hodgson admits Euro experience tarnished

Fulham boss Roy Hodgson admits the magic of playing in Europe has been tempered by their treatment from match officials.

Hodgson continues to seethe after seeing his men cheated out of an historic victory in Rome, where they were controversially reduced to nine men, and the Fulham chief wants a reaction from his players tonight.

He said: "The Europa League has been a good experience but I've been disappointed in the last two games against Roma, where some of the glamour has been taken off.

"In both the Roma home game and away game, I thought we were very harshly treated by very important refereeing decisions. They had a vast bearing on the outcome.

"We've still two matches left and, if we win those, we can qualify. So that's what we're going to be looking to do.

"We haven't given up hope of qualifying."
