President of France Emmanuel Macron wants to take several of the national team's high profile injured stars to the World Cup final.

The likes of Karim Benzema, Paul Pogba and N'Golo Kante are not a part of the Les Bleus squad at present due to injuries.

As France prepares to take on Argentina in the final on Sunday, Macron wants everyone involved for the showpiece event.

According to MARCA, France's sports minister Amelie Oudea-Castera stated: “I know that he is keen to do it and that it is being studied.

“We will see if it is possible."

Of the trio, Benzema was the most likely to play some part in the tournament, having sustained an injury on the eve of the event, but he did not recover in time.
