Freddy Adu determined to win back Monaco spot

Freddy Adu is optimistic he can win his place back in Monaco's 18 man roster. On team spirit, Adu said: "With two wins in row heading into this weekend, Monaco is in a great position to really surprise some people against Lyon. Our confidence is high after two great games against Nancy and Le Havre, and we are optimistic about our chances on Saturday.

"We started off the season really well but went through a rough spell of poor performances. However, these last two games not only put us back into contention in the league but also restored our spirits. This weekend's match is a great opportunity for us to really gain some momentum and build on what we have accomplished thus far."

With regards to getting back in the squad Adu is positive it will go his way.

"Training over the past two weeks has been crisp. There is a new energy around the team. It is exciting to be a part of ! Coach Ricardo has made some changes and experimented with some different lineups as of late. He has given guys like Mollo, Licata, and Pokrivac a chance to prove their value to the team. They have responded well. My hope is that I will find my way into the plans of our coaching staff soon. Obviously, I am disappointed after being left off the eighteen man roster this past weekend, but I know I bring something to club. I am not discouraged. It only makes me work harder to earn my spot."

US Men's National team fan's will be keeping a careful eye on all European based US players over the next couple of months with the hexagonal World Cup qualification due to begin next year.
