Antoine Griezmann has expressed his happiness for Paul Pogba following his match-winning performance against the Netherlands.
France claimed a hard-fought 1-0 victory over the Dutch in World Cup qualifying on Monday night and it was star midfielder Pogba who scored the winner with a stunning 30-yard strike.
Following intense criticism from the media for his form following his world-record transfer from Juventus to Manchester United, the goal would most certainly have lifted the pressure off of Pogba's shoulders and teammate Griezmann has gone on to express his hope that the 23-year-old will now be able to prove the doubters wrong.
The Atletico Madrid ace said: "I'm happy for him.
"He played the same as against Bulgaria [a 4-1 win on Friday], except here it had a purpose.
"omorrow he will make all the newspapers. This will do him good. I hope he will have the support of journalists."
