France coach Didier Deschamps insists he isn't planning to welcome back Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema.

Benzema, after being released from France's World Cup squad due to a thigh injury, is now nearing full fitness.

It's been suggested he is ready to return to Qatar, though Deschamps has offered a pessimistic response to the prospect.

"It is not something I think about now," he said. "I spoke to Benzema after leaving the squad.

"I leave you if you want to generate a debate about it."
