Forster equals Celtic clean sheet record

Fraser Forster has equalled Celtic's consecutive clean sheet record by producing a 10th league shutout in a row.

The Hoops keeper, who has appeared in all ten of the clean sheets with varying defensive combinations, was on hand to deny Kilmarnock in his side's 4-0 win at Celtic Park on Wednesday night.

10 clean sheets on the trot means Forster and his defence have drawn level with the previous record set in 1921/22 and the achievement was certainly not lost on manager Neil Lennon.

"He made a terrific save at 2-0 and he has done that in the last two or three games," he said.

"He is another player in superb form and thoroughly deserves all the accolades that will come his way.

"It is a fantastic achievement and we are hoping to keep that run going if we can."

The victory, which came courtesy of goals from Joe Ledley, Charlie Mulgrew, Amido Balde and an own-goal from Lee Ashcroft, allowed the Hoops to draw 18 points ahead of second-placed Aberdeen.
