Iain Dowie urged West Ham United to be 'careful what they wish for' following the appointment of Slaven Bilic.
The east London club signed the Croatian as their new manager on a three-year deal on Tuesday but ex-defender Dowie is not convinced.
"Slaven is obviously someone they think can maybe come in and give a little bit of spark. I've got to say, it's not an easy job," said Dowie.
"Sam Allardyce, in my opinion, has done a really good job. I'm a West Ham fan but sometimes you have to be careful what you wish for."
