Orlando City brass say they expect Adrian Heath to retain his job as head coach of the club when they move into Major League Soccer.
The USL Pro league champions were unveiled as the 21st MLS franchise this week and will begin life in MLS in 2015.
Orlando City owner and president Phil Rawlins says that former Stoke City, Everton and Burnley midfielder Heath is the right man to lead the Lions into top flight play in a little over 12 months' time.
"We're very, very pleased and delighted with the head coach that we have," Rawlins said on Wednesday.
"In my opinion he's one of the best coaches in the country. He's responsible for our aggressive style of play, one that fans really enjoy.
"Adrian's committed to being with us. We're building a team around him. And we aren't just coming to play, we're coming to win."
