Birmingham hope to solve their goalscoring crisis by moving for former Newcastle striker Obafemi Martins. The Nigerian is set to undergo a medical with the Blues on Sunday with a view to a six-month loan move from Russian club Rubin Kazan, Press Association Sport reports.
The 26-year-old only moved to Kazan from Wolfsburg last summer.
Rubin coach Kurban Berdyev said: "His child was born, and he asked to let him go to England, because Obafemi wants to be closer to his family."
"Everything concerning the paperwork should be sorted in couple of days," one of Martins representatives added.
