Former Newcastle Jets owner Constantine incensed with FFA decision

Departing Newcastle Jets owner Con Constantine as accused Football Federation Australia for stabbing him in the back.

The self-made millionaire was stripped of his ownership license yesterday after struggling with the bills for the past few weeks and he claims that the FFA and chairman Frank Lowy did not even inform of their decision.

"They didn't even have the balls to tell me they'd done it before releasing it," he said.

"That's what they call professionalism. They have been wheeling and dealing behind my back all this time and they haven't had the balls to tell me first. Of course I am absolutely shattered.

"How much damage has to be done to the game before Frank Lowy and the FFA do something about it," he added.

"Frank Lowy's mission is to get this 2022 World Cup. What happens if we don't? Frank Lowy will do one of two things. Walk and walk. He will take off. He's done it before. They [FFA] have stabbed me in the back."
