Hibernian boss John Hughes has admitted interest in signing former Manchester United midfielder Liam Miller. 28-year-old Miller is currently without a club after he was released by Queens Park Rangers at the end of last season.
Hughes said: "We have a lot of irons in the fire and he's only one of four or five on our list. When there are good players going about you feel can enrich your squad then you have to think about them.
"Miller is of a good age, a good football player who has maybe lost his way a wee bit but who still has his best years in front of him.
"But we are nowhere near to concluding any business, we haven't even spoken to him."
