Blackburn Rovers have reportedly invited Danny Guthrie to train with them, with a view to signing the 28-year-old free agent to a permanent deal.
HITC Sport is reporting Guthrie will be part of the Blackburn squad that will play a pre-season friendly match against League One outfit Bury on Tuesday.
Guthrie has been a free agent since his contract with Reading expired at the end of last season and it is understood Rovers boss Gary Bowyer has identified the former Liverpool and Newcastle United midfielder as a potential addition to his squad ahead of the 2015/16 Championship season.
Blackburn can only sign free agents or make loan signings due to Financial Fair Play restrictions placed on the club.
