Former Leicester keeper Schwarzer not on Melbourne Victory agenda says Muscat

Mark Schwarzer will not be joining Melbourne Victory reveals head coach Kevin Muscat.

Schwarzer is currently a free agent after being released by Leicester City at the end of last season and reports had claimed that the 43-year-old could be set for a return to his homeland Australia with the Victory following the departure of Danny Vukovic to rivals Sydney FC.

However, Muscat has gone on to address the speculation and has categorically stated that the veteran goalkeeper will not be joining his side this summer.

When asked on Melbourne sports radio SEN1116 about the prospect of Schwarzer joining Victory, Muscat said: "No.

"Lawrence [Thomas] has done exceptionally well over the past two seasons, coming in at the back end of those campaigns."
