Former Fulham striker John close to Chicago Fire agreement

Former Fulham striker Collins John is believed to be close to an agreement with MLS club Chicago Fire.

The 24-year old Liberian-born Dutch citizen is reportedly keen to sign with the Fire and link up with ex-Cottagers teammate Brian McBride, with whom he had his best season up front at Craven Cottage.

John has struggled in recent seasons as he has battled to find regular first team football in a series of loan deals with Leicester City, Watford and NEC Nijmegen before signing permanently with Belgian outfit KSV Roeselare in mid-2009.

Reports suggest that John and the Fire are close to agreeing a deal.
