Former Everton goalkeeper Mason Springthorpe has joined Fleetwood Town.

The club announced yesterday:

"Fleetwood Town Football Club can confirm the signing of goalkeeper Mason Springthorpe on a short-term deal.

"The 20 year old shot stopper has spent time with Everton and played regularly for the Goodison Park club's under-21 team before being released by Roberto Martinez in May 2014.

"Shrewsbury born Springthorpe joined the Toffees for a six figure sum, before later going on to play for Ellesmere Port. "
