Former England captain Terry Butcher is understood to be in the frame to be League Two Newport County's next manager. Jimmy Dack has been caretaker boss since Justin Edinburgh left for Gillingham in February.
The ex-Ipswich Town and Rangers defender has been out of work since being sacked as manager of Hibs in June 2014 following their relegation from the Scottish Premier Division.
