Former Dutch stars warn Orkun Kokcu 'you're not ready for Chelsea or Arsenal'

Orkun Kokcu is being urged to stay with Feyenoord.

Voetbal International reports Chelsea and Arsenal are both in contact with the midfielder, who has turned down two new contract offers from his Dutch club.

Kokcu has been frustrated with the terms he's been on, finding himself paid far less than some teammates on the bench.

But former Dutch stars Hans Kraay Jr, Rene van der Gijp and Johan Derksen have told Kokcu he's not ready to leave for a bigger stage.

Kraay Jr thinks the midfielder is "not good enough for Chelsea or Atalanta yet", while Van der Gijp would "find such a transfer completely useless".

"You have to be international to go to such a big club," the former attacker stated.

According to Derksen, Kokcu's agents should realise that because of the corona crisis, "the trees no longer grow to the sky at the clubs".

"The days of being a millionaire in one fell swoop are over."
