Former Chelsea, Holland boss Hiddink in frame for Leicester job

Guus Hiddink has emerged as a surprise candidate for the Leicester City manager's job.

The 68-year old left his role as Holland national team boss on Monday and has now been cast into the spotlight regarding the King Power Stadium vacancy which has been left by Nigel Pearson's sacking this week.

Hiddink has previously managed in the Premier League when taking the reins at Chelsea in February 2009 to replace Brazilian Luiz Felipe Scoilari. He was able to come away with victory in the FA Cup in an otherwise below-par campaign for the current English champions.

The experienced manager has overseen PSV Eindhoven, Fenerbahce, Valencia, Real Madrid, Real Betis and Anzhi Makhachkala at club level and has also managed national teams South Korea, Australia, Russia and Turkey.

Hiddink is reportedly up against Bolton boss Neil Lennon for the post at the East Midlands club with the former Foxes midfielder being heavily tipped to take the role for Thai owners the Srivaddhanaprabha family.
