Nottingham Forest star Callum Hodson-Odoi expressed his delight at opening his account for the club.

Hudson-Odoi was on target for the minnows in a 1-1 draw against Burnley on Monday.

Aside from earning Forest a valuable point, Hudson-Odoi has his own season off to a great start.

He told Nottinghamshire Live post-game: "I'm delighted obviously. Being the first time here in front of the crowd, it's amazing to get a goal like that and help the team get a point.

"Obviously disappointed not to get the three points which is what we came for and tried to get but it's all a good start for us.

“We played well but could have been better at times in the final third but overall it was good."

On settling at the club, he stated: "It's been amazing. Everybody around has been very helpful. From the moment I've come in, everybody have been warm welcoming, helped me, they've all made sure I'm good. They've all been encouraging me, pushing me every time so it's been amazing.

"The encouragement from the manager, the staff, everybody around it's very high, they've got good energy, good spirit which is very helpful to know that when you go on the pitch, you feel comfortable. So I think, that's helped us a lot, helped me a lot. I'm ready to keep going."

He added on reuniting with Steve Cooper and Morgan Gibbs-White: "Yeah, me and Morgan were talking about it in the warm-up. It's been a long time since we played with each other, and obviously in training, we always try and link up and always try and keep the ball of each other and pass around but when it comes to games, we're back at it, it's like the under-17s World Cup again.

"It's the same feeling but it's nice to play with him, he's a great player and he knows that. Obviously, the more games we play, hopefully the more connections as well."
