Forest, Leeds go for Stuttgart defender Dino Mavropanos

Stuttgart defender Dino Mavropanos is being linked with a return to England.

Kicker says Nottingham Forest are prepared to pay £17.6 million for the Greece international.

Leeds have also been linked with the former Arsenal defender, and could enter a transfer battle in the summer, but Forest appear to be the club most interested in securing his signature.

Stuttgart are struggling in their fight to avoid relegation from the Bundesliga, and the likelihood of Mavropanos leaving the Mercedes-Benz Arena will increase if they drop into the second-tier.

However, sporting director Fabian Wohlgemuth has revealed there have been no offers for the defender to date.

"Completely detached from the question of whether we would even be willing to talk in one case or another, there is no official request for either Hiroki Ito or Konstantinos Mavropanos," he said.
