Nottingham Forest are engaging in talks with French giants Monaco for left-back Ismail Jakobs.
The principality club are open to selling Jakobs for an appropriate fee in the coming weeks.
Per The Mail, Forest had initially targeted Chelsea's Ian Maatsen, but believe he is too expensive.
Senegal international Jakobs, born in Germany, has been a Monaco first teamer for the past two years.
Forest believe that he has the quality to shine in the Premier League immediately.
Jakobs, who has Champions League and Europa League experience, will be a much needed addition to Steve Cooper's team.
