Orlando City SC head coach Adrian Heath was thrilled to welcome Eric Avila to the club on Monday.
The 27-year old midfielder has joined the MLS expansion club via the Allocation Ranking process following the demise of Chivas USA in the off-season.
Of the new inclusion, Heath spoke highly of Avila who he feels will help deepen the OCSC playing roster with his versatility.
"Eric is a very flexible midfielder who we think will be able to help us in a variety of ways," said Heath in a statement.
"He's an experienced player who has played in this league for quite some time now, so we're delighted to have him with us for the 2015 season."
The California native, who has previously represented the USA at U17 and U20 level, has 153 matches MLS experience following spells with FC Dallas, Toronto FC and Chivas.
