Darren Fletcher isn't giving up on his Manchester United career.
The Sun says the Scotland midfielder has been battling a chronic bowel condition for nearly 18 months and has not featured since a brief appearance off the bench at home to Newcastle on Boxing Day - the last of only 10 appearances this term.
Fletcher, 29, had an op in January and has recently returned to light training at the club's Carrington base.
He has been concentrating on conditioning and strength work and has joined in some sessions with the club's junior players.
