Five big deals that could kick-start the summer transfer market

As is the case every couple of years, the main dealings in this summer's transfer merry-go-round will only take place after the International football action has abated around mid-July so save your free bets until then.

With English Premier League clubs flush with cash from the new TV rights deal, this could be a particularly busy summer.

Leonardo Bonucci

Arguably the most wanted defender in the game at present, Bonucci is reportedly destined for a reunion with his current national team and former Juventus boss Antonio Conte at Stamford Bridge.

New Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is another confirmed member of the Bonucci fan-club, whilst Manchester United has also been linked with the Azzurri defender.

The Conte factor looks as though it could prove decisive, with reports indicating that a three-year deal worth around £130,000 per week, has already been accepted by the player and his agents.

Neymar

There has long been speculation as to Neymar's future at Camp Nou and with his current contract due to expire in 2018, Barcelona are said to be looking to sell the Brazilian should he fail to renew his contract to 2022 over the coming weeks.

Should he fail to put pen to paper, then Barca will look to sell to anyone who activates his €190m buy-out clause, with the three interested clubs with the available funds said to be Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United.

Paul Pogba

With Paul Pogba having reportedly terminated his rent agreement on his Turin apartment, the presumption is that the French midfielder is off for pastures new.

Real Madrid look to be in pole position to prise him away from Serie A as things stand, although they are said to be baulking over Juve's reported asking price of €100 million for the 23-year-old, with add-ons of around €10 million-€20 million on top of that, in addition to Pogba's own wage demands of €12-€13 million per season until 2021.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan

Manchester United recently upped their bid to £28 million for the Armenian attacking-midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan. The 27-year-old only has a year remaining on his existing contract at Borussia Dortmund and is seemingly determined to leave the Westfalenstadion.

The Bundesliga club are reluctant sellers but, rather than lose the player for nothing when his contract expires, an agreement would appear likely.

Any move could be delayed until after the conclusion of Euro 2016 to enable Die Schwarzgelben to bring in a replacement, with Wolfsburg's Andre Schurrle a possible option.

Alvaro Morata

With Real Madrid having recently activated their £23 million buy-back option to re-sign Alvaro Morata from Juventus, the question now is whether they retain his services to challenge Karim Benzema for a starting role or look to cash-in and make a quick (and substantial) profit.

There is interest from the usual Premier League suspects, with Real reportedly demanding a £60 million transfer fee for the 23-year-old Spanish international. Chelsea currently looks to be his likeliest destination.
