Manchester City's umbrella company City Football Group (CFG) are days away from formally adding Istanbul Basaksehir to their network.

Fanatik says a downpayment has been made by CFG with the deal to be formalised inside the coming week.

For the moment, it's unclear whether CFG are taking a stake in Istanbul Basaksehir or if it's a full-blown buyout.

A first tranche of payments has now been made with the deal on track.

Istanbul Basaksheir could therefore become the thirteenth club in CFG after Manchester City, Girona, Troyes, Palermo and Lommel in Europe and New York City, Melbourne City, Montevideo City Torque, Mumbai City, Sichuan Jiuniu, Mumbai City and Bahia across the world.
