Fiorentina supremo Andrea Dalla Valle says he has sympathy for sacked coach Sinisa Mihajlovic.
Viola supporters have given their verdict already, as 5,000 came out to see Delio Rossi's first training ground test match against local side Rondinella, which ended 10-0 thanks to five goals from Alberto Gilardino.
"I really wanted to be here for our new tactician's first game," said Dell Valle.
"It has been an intense week with many sad moments. This is football, so we honour Mihajlovic, who behaved like a great man.
"He paid the price for some things that weren't his fault, but the situation had become unsustainable.
"Fiorentina are turning over a new leaf with Rossi, a Coach with experience and quality who we respect. I think he is the right man.
"It's still November, so there is time, but I believe we can qualify for Europe. The team is working hard and there are tough tests ahead, but I am convinced we can do it."
