Bournemouth are said to be close to a deal with Fiorentina for midfielder Gaetano Castrovilli.

The four-time Italy international is set to sign for the Cherries in a deal that could go to €14 million.

Per Sky Sports, Bournemouth appear to have secured the midfielder they were so desperate to sign before the start of the new season.

Castrovilli was part of the Italy squad that beat England at Euro 2020 back in 2021.

The 26-year-old has played 125 games for Fiorentina, scoring 13 goals and managing eight assists.

He will play as a central midfielder for boss Androni Iraola, who had urged the club to sign a player for that position.
