Fiorentina keeper Frey: Difficult to accept Champions League exit

Fiorentina goalkeeper Sebastien Frey admits they feel robbed after they were bundled out of the Champions League last night.

The Germans lost 3-2 on the night, but qualified on the away goals rule, 4-4 on aggregate. This was after ref Tom Henning Ovrebo and his linesman allowed a Miroslav Klose strike that was several yards offside in the first leg.

"We're very angry and disappointed, even if there can't be many regrets after tonight, as we gave it our all and got the win," said Frey after the 3-2 victory.

"Unfortunately it was not enough because of the first leg result. That makes it feel worse, as we can't help but think that with the 1-1 in Munich we'd be through.

"It was truly a great performance and we're proud of what we have done in this tournament. We were so close to continuing and didn't quite get there, but it was not our fault."

The fans were furious at the final whistle and chanted "thieves," referring to the infamous first leg goal that was several yards offside.
