Fiorentina coach Prandelli: Udinese too good

Fiorentina coach Cesare Prandelli offered no excuses after Udinese inflicted their first defeat of the season yesterday.

"We played our game and the same is true of Udinese. They didn't steal anything from us," said Prandelli after the 2-1 defeat.

"It is a defeat that must be accepted so we can get back to work and move on. If we only lose once every six months, I think I can be happy with that.

"We had a few problems today picking the line-up, as Tomas Ujfalusi and Alessandro Gamberini were out, so we forced Dario Dainelli to play when not 100 per cent fit. We were also unlucky when Riccardo Montolivo hit the bar."

Udinese coach Pasquale Marino said: "My lads put in the perfect performance. They made sacrifices for the team, played well both in attack and defence and had a great second half.

"Perhaps we only ran a few risks when Riccardo Montolivo hit the crossbar, but beating the Viola is a great result and fills us with pride. It is not easy to come here and take away three points."
