After defeat to Inter Milan, Fiorentina coach Cesare Prandelli saw enough from his players to end his feud with the local Florence press.

He said: "There were some moments of tension, but they were not aimed at the fans or the city. The local media was excessively critical, as far as I was concerned, after four very impressive years."

Prandelli added: "I think we reacted well in a difficult arena. In these four years the squad has shown great professionalism and character to overcome problems. If we maintain this spirit, then the last 10 games of the season will be positive."
