Fiorentina admit no deal for Ajax's El Hamdaoui

Fiorentina have confirmed their deal for Ajax striker Mounir El Hamdaoui has fallen through.

La Viola have issued a communication to the Italian media suggesting that a deal for the 27-year-old Moroccan forward had been agreed, both with the club and the player, but that Ajax put the stoppers on the switch at the last minute.

This was reportedly because they had asked for a bank guarantee statement from Fiorentina that would assure them of payment on the transfer, but that it was requested too late into proceedings.
