Finance experts feel the massive outlay by Manchester City simply proves the ambition of owner Sheikh Mansour.

Financial expert David Bick reckons the losses prove the Blues are hell-bent on becoming the ­biggest club in England.

Bick said: "It's a similar level of investment to that at Chelsea, but this is a better set-up in terms of them developing the sites around the stadium.

"What the figures tell me is that they've planned... to be inside the (UEFA) rules as they start to bite.

"You can see what they're doing and they seem to have done it in a planned and intelligent way."
