FIFA SHOCK: Prince Ali says 'I will stand' again for presidency

Prince Ali bin Hussein says he will stand for the FIFA presidency following Sepp Blatter's shock resignation.

FIFA has been rocked by Blatter's decision to step down as president just days after being re-elected for a four-year term for the fifth time.

In an interview with CNN, Jordan's Prince Ali was measured when answering questions regarding his status and if he would stand again for the presidency after he was unsuccessful at FIFA congress on Friday.

"I am there to serve football. We will have to wait and see what happens. This was news to me as it was anyone else," he told CNN.

"Having said that, yes of course. I will do my best to support our national associations across the world to make a better future and a brighter future for football.

"I have to talk to our national associations and see how they feel about this. I think it's a bit early but definitely if they want me to do it, I will do it.

"I think it needs to be done from within, I understand. My only concern is that we have to be aware of the possibility of deals being made, and so on, are there.

"For me, I will stand, and I will fight for the right of every national association in any case but I have to be careful about this. I don't want to see FIFA going down the wrong way again. That's the only message I can say."
