FIFA launch West Ham probe over Haller fee payment

FIFA have investigating West Ham United after delaying a payment to German side Eintracht Frankfurt for the transfer of Sebastien Haller.

The London Evening Standard says the Hammers were due to pay Frankfurt £5.4million (€5.7m) as part of the club record £45m deal for Haller on May 15 but have withheld the payment following a contractual dispute between the two clubs.

It is understood that the Hammers expect the issue to be resolved in the near future, with sources close to the club insisting they face no issues with funding or cash flow.

A Fifa statement read: “We can confirm that we have received a claim from Eintracht Frankfurt against West Ham. The matter is currently being investigated and consequently we cannot provide any further comments."
