Southampton manager Ronald Koeman has admitted that he is eyeing a move for Feyenoord youngster Jordy Clasie
With Manchester United target Morgan Schneiderlin all but certain to leave Southampton this summer, the club are currently in the market to sign a new midfielder.
Dutch international Clasie had been mentioned in the media as a potential target for the Saints and now manager Koeman has admitted that he will look to sign the 24-year old in order to negate the loss of Schneiderlin.
Koeman said: "Clasie is one of the players on the list what we have to replace Morgan Schneiderlin.
"It's a good player, because it's a young player, it's an international Dutch player and he's ready to make a step and to play and to show his qualities on a higher level than we have in the Dutch league.
"If Morgan goes, we need a player in that position and he is one of that."
