Sir Alex Ferguson admits he chose signing Bebe for Manchester United ahead of Chelsea star Eden Hazard. Ferguson decided to plump for a deal worth £7.8m for Bebe instead, on the recommendation of then-assistant boss Carlos Quieroz.
"With feet like his, Bebe was able to score 20 goals per season," Ferguson told A Bola.
"We saw Hazard, but instead hired Bebe. Who would have bet that would not work?
"It is clear that he had a difficult childhood wandering the streets of Lisbon."
