Manchester United will take on Aberdeen in a friendly next month to honour former Dons star Neil Simpson.
The Red Devils will head to Pittodrie with manager Sir Alex Ferguson returning to his former club for the August 14 testimonial which pays tribute to Simpson who has served more than 20 years at Aberdeen as player and coach.
"I am honoured the supporters who campaigned for the game have a match like this," Simpson said.
Simpson, now 50, was a key part of the Aberdeen team which took out the 18983 European Cup Winners Cup over Real Madrid in Gothenburg with Ferguson at the helm.
