Ferdinand questions why Man Utd allowing van de Beek exit after Everton training lift

Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand is questioning the club's decision to loan out Donny van de Beek.

The Dutchman started his first game at the Toffees against Leeds United, and put in an excellent midfield display in a 3-0 win.

Ferdinand states that van de Beek is impressing Everton coaches in training, leading him to question why Man United allowed such a quality player to depart in the first place.

"I've been speaking to a few people at the club and they've said that he's gone in there and lifted the levels, training-wise," he said on Vibe with FIVE.

"[He's a] great lad, first and foremost, but you can see a lot of them are going, 'Wow, he's this good, they must be unbelievable at Manchester United if he can't get in'."
