Fenerbahce threaten quitting SuperLig

Turkey giants Fenerbahce could be about to leave their nation's domestic league.

Fener are considering quitting the Turkish SuperLig in protest after recent incidents in games.

The Turkish giants are furious at how events unfolded during a game against Trabzonspor.

Many of the latter team's fans came onto the field and were involved in altercations with Fener players.

“The treatment Fenerbahce receives is not something we can tolerate," president Ali Koc said earlier this week.

According to The Athletic, the club's issues stem from more than one incident.

They are unhappy at events that date back to 2006, which is why their threats are being taken seriously.
