Fenerbahce are in contact with Real Madrid captain Marcelo.

While open to signing the veteran before tonight's transfer deadline in Turkey, Fener are happy to wait until next summer when the Brazilian comes off contract.

AS says Marcelo is ready to play out the final year of his deal with Real Madrid before seeking a new adventure.

And a move to Fener is a real option for the 33 year-old.

Key to the deal is good friend Roberto Carlos. The former Real Madrid star also played for Fener and has been enthusiastically talking up the club to Marcelo in recent months.

Come June, it will mark 16 years with Real Madrid for Marcelo.
