Andy Cole is ready to quit Portsmouth after being dumped for their trip to Hong Kong.

The ex-England striker, signed for £500,000 from Manchester City last season, is one of only two fit first-team players left behind from Harry Redknapp's 23-man squad for the Asia Trophy.

Cole, 35, who is a target for Hull and Nottingham Forest, said: "I do not know why I have not gone to Hong Kong, you will have to ask the manager.

"I just want to play football but I cannot see that being at Portsmouth."
