FC Midtjylland midfielder Tim Sparv has spoken of his time with Southampton.

The Finland international joined the Saints academy as a teen and played with some of the club's best graduates.

He told Viaplay Sport Live: "It was a fantastic environment for a young boy from Finland.

"I had the pleasure of playing with Theo Walcott, Adam Lallana, Gareth Bale and many others who have had a really good career after that time.

"I was 16 when I flew to England and it was a fine football school and you got away from your comfort zone.

"There was more competition and it was a positive experience."
