Falkirk admit boss Hughes could move to a bigger club

Falkirk managing director George Craig knows it will be difficult to keep hold of boss John Hughes should a big club come calling. Hughes has earned positive reviews for his season's work after steering the Bairns to SPL survival and the Scottish Cup final, where they narrowly lost 1-0 to Rangers on Saturday.

"John has worked closely with me and understood the difficulties and pressures I've got in running us as a business. We have no option but to do that," Craig told the Daily Record.

"John is ambitious and if he gets a chance to further his career elsewhere, I would be a hard man to stand in his way.

"But he is the Falkirk manager and hopefully we can plan the future together.

"Hibs and Aberdeen? I would say there could be a lot of clubs out there watching the performance at Hampden and saying to themselves, 'Who is the guy responsible for that?'

"They are going to look at John and say he is a top, top manager."
