Failed Everton bid for Belgium international Defour

Everton are understood to have had a bid for Standard Liege star Steven Defour rejected.

Standard are known to want at least £12.6million for the highly-rated player.

"How high was the bid? I do not know, you would need to ask Luciano D'Onofrio (Standard vice-president) that question," Defour told HLN.
