Fabian Delph encouraged to leave Everton

Fabian Delph has been encouraged to leave Everton.

The Liverpool Echo says the Blues are likely to want to offload Delph before making any additions to that part of the squad.

Delph has been told he can leave the club this summer and was due to re-join his team-mates in training this week having missed the two-game US tour because of the need to self-isolate, the club said.

Andre Gomes has received interest from former club Benfica and Everton could be open to selling the Portuguese midfielder if the right offer was tabled, which would create further space in the wage bill.

But manager Rafa Benitez has made it clear to Delph, an £8.5m signing from Manchester City in 2019, that he can find a new club this summer.
